Find the Best-Ranking Pages for Any Keyword
The Top Pages report in Keyword Research shows all pages currently ranking in the Top 100 for a given keyword, sorted by estimated traffic. For each page, you can expand to see its full keyword set — revealing the complete topical scope of the content Google rewards for this query. Use it to benchmark the content depth required to compete, and to identify pages worth reverse-engineering.
What you can achieve:
Understand what content wins for a keyword: See whether long-form guides, product pages, or listicles dominate the SERP — so you create the right content type, not just good content.
Size up the competition depth: A page ranking for 500+ keywords is a comprehensive resource — you'll need to match or exceed that topical depth to compete.
Steal keyword clusters from top-ranking pages: Expanding any top-ranking page reveals all its ranking keywords — your content roadmap in one click.
Getting Started
- Navigate to Keyword Research → SEO Research → Top Pages in the left sidebar.
- Enter your target keyword and select the regional database.
- Click Search. Pages are ranked by estimated organic traffic.
- Click the expand arrow next to any page URL to see all the keywords it ranks for — including related terms beyond your seed keyword.
- Click the domain name to run a full Site Analysis on that domain.
Key Metrics Explained
- URL: The specific page Google is ranking. Note whether it's a homepage, category page, or specific article — this tells you which content format Google prefers for this query.
- Keywords: The number of queries this page ranks for in the Top 100. A high keyword count indicates a comprehensive, well-optimized resource.
- Estimated Traffic: Predicted monthly organic visitors to this page. Use this to gauge the prize if you can displace or match it.
- Facebook Shares: Social engagement signal — highly shared pages tend to have strong backlink profiles as well.
Pro Tip: Reverse-Engineer the Topic Cluster of a Top-Ranking Page
The page ranked #1 for your target keyword has already told Google exactly what to include. Here's how to read that signal.
- Find the page ranked #1 or #2 for your target keyword.
- Click the expand arrow to see all keywords it ranks for — not just your seed keyword.
- Note the subtopics those keywords represent — they form a content brief: your article should cover all of them.
- The goal: By matching the topical breadth of a top-ranking page (while adding fresh insights or better structure), you give Google every reason to prefer your content.
| ⚠️ Important: Top Pages in Keyword Research shows pages ranking for the searched keyword. This is different from Top Pages in Site Analysis, which shows pages ranked by traffic for a specific domain. Use this one to benchmark the SERP; use Site Analysis Top Pages to analyze a specific competitor's content strategy. |
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is Top Pages (Keyword Research) different from Top Pages (Site Analysis)?
